Repairs included replacement of existing deteriorated piping and valves, repainting of steel water distribution deck, provision of heat trace system, and related work. The intent of this contract was to address areas of corrosion to extend the overall life of the cooling tower. Replaced exposed exterior pipe, valves, fittings, hangars, below the cooling tower.

Building 1284A houses a central chilled water plant that provides chilled water to 10 buildings for comfort cooling.

The plant consists of two (2) existing electric 1,000-ton water cooled chillers, 2 chilled water primary pumps, 2 condenser water pumps, a 1,400-ton BAC 2-cell, open-loop evaporative cooling tower, an automated chemical treatment system, and related equipment and components.
