Work on this project includes general construction, alterations, grading, drainage, necessary removal of existing structure and construction and certain other items, in phases. Specifically, this project involves the demolition and replacement of over 700 windows at three buildings on the Department of Veteran Affair’s Hampton campus. Coordination with the V.A. staff throughout is critical to staying on schedule. Due to the various site conditions, scaffolding and a fleet of man-lifts has been employed to reach all the locations. Window types vary by building, to include curtainwall frames and hurricane impact rated, with integral blinds. Some windows includes installing protective window film to all the exterior windows. All window replacements include interior carpentry, drywall, paint, etc. as part of the replacement, all while maintaining the historical integrity of the buildings.
